Backstage Update on Max Caster’s Controversial Pre-Match Promo At TNA Bound For Glory 2026 & TNA Cutting Ties With Caster

As noted before, this past Sunday’s TNA Bound For Glory 2026 event in Tampa, Florida featured former AEW talent Max Caster making his official debut appearance for TNA Wrestling. Caster’s appearance was notable for the online backlash against his pre-match promo directed at Moose that included a line referencing the recent missile attack at an airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia that resulted in several deaths. Caster’s promo line was later revealed to have been “unscripted” and “unapproved.” TNA recently issued an official statement apologizing for the incident and confirmed Caster would no longer be working with the company. Caster issued an official statement this past Tuesday apologizing for his inappropriate comments during his promo.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources stated that prior to the incident, Caster had been signed to a per-date contract with TNA.

In regards to the decision for Caster’s departure from TNA, Meltzer reported that those spoken to stated that WWE was not involved and instead TNA President Carlos Silva was the one who made the decision.

Those spoken to within WWE reportedly stated that the company had zero to do with the decision and most of the key people within the company were not really even aware of it until after TNA made the decision to cut their ties with him.

Meltzer reported that the current belief is that nobody within TNA went over the contents of what Caster had planned to say before he went out for his entrance.
