GCW World Title & Joseph Sawyer Knee Injury Situation Update – GCW World Title To Not Be Vacated & Sawyer To Defend Title Against Atticus Cogar at 11/7 GCW Event

As noted before, this past Septemberโ€™s The Score event for Game Changer Wrestling in Cincinnati, Ohio featured indies and TNA talent Joseph Sawyer, former Joe Gacy in WWE, suffering an apparent knee injury and walking out of his title defense match. Following the show, Sawyer provided an update stating that his injury was not as bad as he had initially thought. GCW had recently announced the situation involving their World title and Sawyer’s injury would be addressed at their Fight Club Night Two event on October 11 in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

During Sunday’s Fight Club Night Two event, GCW owner and promoter Brett Lauderdale came out for a speech and appeared to be ready to strip Sawyer of the title until Sawyer appeared on the video screen. Sawyer stated that there were some truths about what was being said about him but it was a whole lot of bullshit. Sawyer continued stating he didnโ€™t want to come back to GCW because he got hurt, he got booed for getting hurt and then he got attacked online for getting hurt. After some more words, Sawyer called the GCW fanbase “ungrateful” and stated he’s paid his dues and that Atticus Cogar is wasting his time in GCW and for cheap pops.

After some more words, Sawyer stated that he is willing to put his GCW World title on the line at GCW’s event on November 7 in a match with no rules against Cogar. Sawyer stated that when he wins, he is taking the title with him and not coming back.

It was announced that Sawyer title match against Cogar was made official for GCW’s The Crossroads event on November 7 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
