Kickout held a recent interview with Jeff Jarrett. One of the topics discussed included Jarrett’s thoughts about him having a conclusion to his story with MLF being the one major storyline he would still like to take part in in AEW.
“Well, MJF will always need to be slapped. But no, I take it one day at a time. I enjoy, you know, I do the pre-shows, whether it’s called Zero Hour or Buy-In. I enjoy that a lot. Me and Mick Foley, we had a really good time last month. You never know. If you’re a professional wrestler, chasing gold is in your DNA. Maybe not the world title, maybe a trios, maybe a tag, I don’t know. But… Chasing gold is something that you always want to do.”
Jarrett also gave his thoughts about who is better between WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle and Bryan Danielson and his belief that Danielson is maybe the best storyteller in the ring in the history of the wrestling business.
“I believe Bryan Danielson is maybe the best storyteller in the ring in the history of the business. That includes Jerry Lawler. There’s a lot. Bryan’s very, very good at what he does.”
Jarrett also gave his thoughts about AEW expanding into the French market with their Grand Slam France show.
“It’s huge. It’s all about professional wrestling or any kind of form of sport or entertainment. There’s nothing like seeing it live. I’ve been in the professional wrestling business for three generations, and it’s a global sport now. It’s seen all over the world, but there’s nothing like experiencing it live. You know, last month we were in Wembley Stadium, and so, you know, with the vibe and the electricity that is in that stadium, and we travel the brand all over, but there’s nothing like seeing it live, and that’s what Grand Slam at the Adidas Arena is gonna be very special.”
Jarrett also gave his thoughts about what it would take for France to become a regular market for AEW.
“Our television partner. Warner Next, Warner TV. We have a wonderful relationship with them really all over the globe, specifically on TBS and TNT in America. But for here, it all starts with that distribution partner, and so it’s very strong. So we have to continue to grow that relationship. That’d be first and foremost, and then again, there’s only so much time. 52 Wednesdays, 52 Saturdays for Dynamite (and) Collision and then we have our premium live events. So a consistency in the market is paramount as well.”
