MJF Makes Surprise Appearance at 10/7 NJPW Road To King Of Pro Wrestling Event & Issues Challenge To Ryohei Oiwa

Wednesday’s NJPW Road to King of Pro Wrestling event at the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan featured MJF making a surprise appearance.

Following TMDK’s Ryohei Oiwa & Zack Sabre Jr.’s victory over Yota Tsuji & Ares in a tag team match, the lights went off and a video aired on the big screen showing MJF.

MJF insulted NJPW saying that it isn’t a real company that doesn’t matter and every top star has left them because they know NJPW is second rate. MJF then turned his attention towards Oiwa and stated that Oiwa was the best NJPW has to offer and if he beats him, then he is one step closer to locking the Forbidden Door and ending NJPW. MJF continued stating that he was going to beat Oiwa with a headlock takeover and is willing to put the “Triple B” AEW World title on the line. MJF then issued an official challenge to Oiwa for a match between the two.

Following his appearance, MJF issued a statement in character to Fightful about his reason why he is working with New Japan.

“I have a statement for why I’m doing business with New Japan.

It’s a simple one I’d like public.

I want to prove new Japan isn’t a real company.

I want to prove I’m the master of the headlock.

But MOST of all. I want to upset puro twitter.”

MJF and Oiwa have been involved in an online feud with each other since Oiwa’s G1 Climax 2026 tournament victory this past August over who is the real master of the headlock takedown.
