Tony Khan Responds To Fan Criticism of Ring of Honor Product Under His Ownership

AEW CEO Tony Khan has been the owner of Ring of Honor since his purchase of the company from Sinclair Broadcast Group in March of 2022. Since his purchase of ROH, many fans online have complained about the quality of the ROH product for their weekly ROH TV shows under Khan’s watch.

In a response to a fan criticizing the ROH product calling it a “disaster” and posting a low fans rating score for a ROH TV show from this past July, Khan responded stating:

“These days”? It’s October. This tv was in July. Since then, there was an excellent ROH Death Before Dishonor ppv in August. It was widely praised. There was free ROH TV on YouTube last night with tremendous action. You handpicked a tv from months ago and called it “these days.”

This same fan responded back clarifying his comments stating that he was only talking about the weekly ROH TV shows for his criticisms and not ROH’s PPV events.

“The PPVs for ROH have never been an issue for me, theyve always been great.

I just think ROH has so much potential to be more than what it is now which for most wrestling fans is a show that is skippable on a weekly basis.

And if the goal for ROH is to develop talent, I dont see how wrestling shorter matches in front of a studio audience helps them long term compared to if ROH was running stand alone shows in front of crowds of like 1500 people and working longer matches.”
