As seen at the WWE Battleground pay-per-view on Sunday night, The Miz won the Intercontinental Title Battle Royal to capture the vacant IC title. During the match, The Miz went through the middle and bottom ropes and eventually returned to win the match. Miz spent most of the match hiding on the outside where fans didn’t notice him. This marks The Miz’s third reign as WWE Intercontinental Champion.
It should also be noted that despite being advertised, Rob Van Dam did not appear in the match. Fandango was also not in the match due to the fact that he worked the Battleground Kickoff show in a match against Adam Rose. Damien Sandow did work the match despite being pulled earlier in the week.
Ahh, creative re-writes. Gotta’ love ’em!
