— WWE’s deal with Rogers in Canada for the WWE Network was a signed deal about a month ago. The company wanted to wait for the earnings call to make the announcement in order to have a positive note for the Network. While there aren’t negotiations with other cable providers for this kind of deal, WWE is very open to the idea should any be interested.
— WWE will begin pushing WrestleMania locally in California starting with SummerSlam weekend.
— Friday’s episode of WWE SmackDown drew 2.713 million viewers, a 0.7 rating in the 18 – 49 demographic and a 1.91 household rating. The household rating is down 5% from last week’s 2.01 but the viewership and demo rating were essentially even with 2.72 million viewers and a 0.7.
The show was the highest-rated original cable brodcast for the night, beating out Girl Meets World for the top spot.
