As noted last night here on the website, WWE has released their veteran timekeeper Mark Yeaton. He had been with the company for over 30 years and the release caught many by surprise due to his long tenure and the fact that he was well-liked. One source described his departure as a sign that “no one is safe” from the ongoing budget cuts. In addition to his timekeeper role, Yeaton was also responsible for ordering & maintaining materials WWE used for their rings and other logistics. He was also the guy who threw Steve Austin his beers!
Speaking of Steve Austin, he tweeted the following regarding Yeaton’s WWE release:
#Swigofbeer to my old beer thrower @WWETimekeeper Mark Yeaton. Best damn beer thrower in the world and great guy. pic.twitter.com/7WfJNRJd3d

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross also noted: “Very disappointed….sad.”
