— WWE NXT star Sami Zayn recently spoke to TheNational.ae. When asked about attending WWE’s recent tryouts in Abu Dhabi, Zayn said:

“That was a great experience. There is not a big professional wrestling scene in the Gulf, so there weren’t any professional wrestlers. But many had backgrounds in boxing, mixed martial arts and athletics. I was not involved in decisions in who made it or not, but all I know is that the organizers’ were very pleased to come here and they do plan to come back. Hopefully that means more representation for the Arab market.”

“Originally I was supposed to go blonde but it’s all about feeling confident and empowered, so, for me, my confidence would not have been the same if I’d have gone blonde. So I decided to go red and make that statement and feel comfortable in my own skin. I decided to go against the grain and that’s definitely what I did and the girls are definitely shocked. I think it definitely made a statement.”
