UPDATE x 2: The Friday airing of last week’s live SmackDown was down as expected. The show drew 2 million viewers and a 0.5 rating in the 18 – 49 demographic, down 21% and two-tenths respectively from last week’s 2.53 million and 0.7. Obviously the fact that the show aired live on Tuesday on USA Network hurt the Friday airing.
The final cable/household rating will be available later.

UPDATE: Wednesday night’s annual episode of WWE Tribute to the Troops beat out the live episode of WWE SmackDown in ratings and viewers. The show did 2.23 million viewers and a 0.7 rating in the 18 – 49 demographic, up 10% and a tenth from SmackDown’s 2.02 million and 0.6 demo rating.
The show was down 3% in total viewers from last year’s but up in the demo; the 2013 Tribute to the Troops did 2.31 million and a 0.6 demo rating. It’s difficult to get an accurate comparison between the two though, as 2013’s episode aired on a Saturday.
ORIGINAL: The Tuesday, December 16th special live edition of WWE SmackDown on the USA Network scored a final cable rating of 1.51, according to Nielsen Media Research. The number was down a considerable amount from the previous week’s taped airing in the usual Friday slot on SyFy, which drew a 1.74 final rating.
Tuesday’s SmackDown “Super Show” averaged 2.027 million viewers, which was also down quite a bit from the average of 2.531 million viewers for last week’s show in the usual time slot.
