In an interview with the Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast, DDP spoke about his work with Jake Roberts and Scott Hall. Here are highlights:
On Jake Roberts and Scott Hall: “They were blackballed pretty much. The company—they tried… I think Jake went to eleven rehabs and Scott went to twelve. The company paid for almost all of those. Not all of them. I think Scott said he paid for a few on his own, as well. He doesn’t really like to take things from people. And then they both get sober in the same year, in the same house and then go into the Hall of Fame at the same time. It was my 58th birthday when they had the Hall of Fame last year. It was like the greatest birthday present ever.”
On the Monday Night War show on WWE Network: “I think they’re good, but they definitely have their own slant on it. But I always say, the history is written by the winners. If they would have done it where it was down the middle, I think the people who know—people who watched would know, ‘That’s bullsh*t.’ But it’s still pretty good for WWE to put WCW over when they do.”
