According to sources, WWE is backing away from their criteria of a certain “look” or build in terms of scouting for NXT. WWE is looking to get some new top stars to tour with NXT. The idea would be to run it as a WWE-style production but with “ROH level main event matches.”
While Vince McMahon isn’t fond of using ROH or TNA talent on the main roster if they were already on national TV elsewhere, it’s not as much of an issue with the NXT roster where workrate is more important.
