According to sources, the booking plans for the Tag Team Championship #1 Contenders’ match at Payback was intended to see the Vaudevillains win and get a shot at The New Day. As seen at the show, after Enzo Amore was injured the match immediately went to a no contest instead.

There had been rumors that the Dudleys would interfere to cost Enzo and Big Cass the match, but they never got to that point. Of course, The Dudley Boyz inserted themselves into the feud last night on RAW.
