UPDATE: WWE has issued the following statement in regards to Jerry Lawler’s status following the domestic abuse charges against him being dropped:
“Jerry Lawler’s legal matter has been resolved and his suspension has been lifted, effective immediately.”
ORIGINAL: According to The Commercial Appeal, domestic assault charges against Jerry Lawler and his fiancée Lauryn McBride have been dropped. The two were charged with domestic assault after an incident in early June at Lawler’s home in East Memphis. Lawler’s attorney Ted Hansom has the following to say about the situation…
“[It was] a big misunderstanding and won’t happen again. We are happy with the outcome.”
Once Lawler was charged, he was indefinitely suspended by WWE until the legal process could play out.
