The Guardian is reporting that British Sky Broadcasting (BSkyB), bought a package of channels from the Living TV Group (previously known as Virgin Media Television) yesterday for £160 million. Bravo is one of those channels, which is TNA’s TV home in the UK. British Sky Broadcasting has announced that Bravo is too similar to its own cable channel, Sky1, and that they are shutting down the channel. TNA aired on the network on Saturday nights.
TNA Executive Vice President Andy Barton made the following statement today, regarding the UK TV situation…
“Following the acquisition of Virgin Media TV channels (now rebranded as The Living TV Group) by Sky, there has always been the possibility of fundamental changes to those channels, including Bravo. However, we remain confident in TNA’s position due to the outstanding ratings enjoyed in 2010, and our long term contract with the Living TV Group.”
