With the “superstar shake-up” coming this Monday and Tuesday, the “fate” of Roman Reigns seems to be up in the air. According to Dave Meltzer, he has heard from some people that Reigns is staying on Raw and from some people that he is moving to SmackDown.
However, the expected main event for the upcoming WWE Payback PPV is Roman Reigns vs. Braun Strowman, so it seems more likely that Reigns will be staying on Raw.
The rumored idea for Braun Strowman is that after he feuds with Roman Reigns, he is expected to go on to feud with Brock Lesnar. On Raw this past Monday, Strowman said that once he is finished with Roman Reigns, he would be coming for Lesnar.
That would lead you to assume that Strowman will somehow be going “over” in his feud with Reigns in order to look strong enough to face Lesnar, but probably / almost definitely won’t win clean over Reigns, since WWE is not going to make Reigns look weak. One possibility would be a run-in that costs Reigns the match (and sets up the next feud for Reigns). Dave Meltzer speculates that AJ Styles could possibly end up costing Reigns the match and setting up a Reigns vs. Styles feud. However, it seems like that would end up with Reigns going over on Styles, which would probably anger a lot of fans and might not be the best “first feud” for Styles after moving to Raw.
Brock Lesnar will probably go over on Braun Strowman in their feud. The rumored WrestleMania 34 main event is still Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship.
