As reported earlier, WWE is teaming with Facebook on the development of a new online show called Mixed Match Challenge. This show will air every Tuesday after Smackdown for twelve weeks and will be a team based competition involving stars from both RAW and Smackdown.
Entertainment website Variety revealed several more details regarding this show including Facebook is paying the WWE for this show to be made, will be a timed exclusive for the platform, and will be available to watch on the WWE Network albeit at a later date. In regards to the show’s format, Variety also reported Facebook will not interrupt the show with commercial breaks nor include their new ad insertion system for videos which is still in the testing phase.
While the show itself will be heavily based on fan participation, it is currently rumored some of the voting will likely be rigged based on a recent poll by the WWE which might have accidentally spoiled the mystery member from the RAW brand side of the competition. The poll asked fans who they felt had the stronger roster between the two brands and while Smackdown still had the mystery of their final Fan Vote member listed, RAW did not and instead listed Samoa Joe as the final Fan Vote member. At the time of this report, WWE still has Samoa Joe spoiled as the final member for RAW.
