As mentioned yesterday, NXT had been setting up Lars Sullivan to face Andrade “Cien” Almas for the NXT Championship at TakeOver: New Orleans, but he suddenly “disappeared” from TV, the Performance Center, and Twitter for about a month in the middle of a huge push, and Aleister Black will face Almas at TakeOver instead.
In an update on this situation, Lars Sullivan is reportedly dealing with a knee injury and “health issue,” according to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio. Meltzer says that he’s expected back in a week or two and he had to be replaced at TakeOver because he was not able to compete at the NXT tapings last week, which were for the next six weeks of shows.
