Dana White was interviewed by TMZ and was asked about the rumors that CM Punk’s next UFC opponent would be Mike “The Truth” Jackson. Dana White replied, “That is the fight.”
CM Punk pretty much said last month that he would be returning to the UFC at UFC 225 on June 9 at the United Center in Chicago, which is CM Punk’s hometown.
Punk’s opponent Mike Jackson, like CM Punk, is 0-1 and his only loss came to the same person who beat CM Punk: Mickey Gall. Gall choked Mike Jackson out in 45 seconds in February 2016 in a fight to determine CM Punk’s first opponent. Gall then went on to defeat CM Punk in just over 2 minutes at UFC 203 in September 2016.
