As noted before, WWE released Big Cass earlier this week but unlike with typical releases, they did not wish him well with his future endeavors. Both Pro Wrestling Sheet and Post Wrestling reported that his firing was related to previous backstage issues and WWE officials being unhappy with his performance as a singles wrestler.
PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that Big Cass was given a 90-day no compete clause as part of the terms of his release.
Sports Illustrated’s Justin Barrasso reported that Cass’ behavior during last month’s WWE European tour was one of the main factors leading to his release due to the WWE being upset with his drinking and inability to control himself during the tour.
Besides the European tour, Pro Wrestling Sheet’s Ryan Satin reported a recent incident involving a WWE tour bus that was another major factor leading to his release. Satin reported that Cass was unaware that the bathroom door on the bus was broken prior to using the room and after being stuck for some time, Cass began to panic and broke the door down thinking he was being pranked. Making things worse was that others on the bus had to use the bathroom during the rest of the trip with no door. Satin also reported that some on the bus understood Cass’ frustration and were not as angry as others.
