As mentioned, WWE signed a five year deal with FOX that will see SmackDown move to the main FOX channel on Friday nights starting on October 4, 2019.
Now, there are rumors that we could also see NXT airing on FS1 (Fox Sports 1), FOX’s cable sports channel. According to Pro Wrestling Sheet, there have been “discussions” about possibly airing NXT weekly on FS1, though there’s no indication if it will actually end up happening or not yet.
In a conference call today, WWE co-president Michelle Wilson said that there have been discussions about additional “promotional programming” on both FS1 and FOX, which likely means a WWE rundown show or Talking Smack-type show.
“Those absolutely have been in discussions with Fox. There have been discussions around additional promotional programming that would highlight other activities in WWE. So those are certainly very positive discussions that are taking place — both on FS1 and Fox Broadcast.”
