Shinsuke Nakamura Appears on Crutches at WWE House Show in Japan

Shinsuke Nakamura appeared with crutches at a WWE house show today in Tokyo, Japan after he was bitten on the leg by a police dog earlier this week.

Nakamura was originally scheduled to face AJ Styles for the WWE Championship at the show, but was not able to wrestle. Instead, he came out and told the crowd that he wasn’t able to wrestle, then cut a promo in Japanese before being interrupted by Samoa Joe, who said that he would challenge AJ Styles instead. Nakamura tried to give Joe a low blow, but missed and Joe locked on a Coquina Clutch until AJ Styles made the save.

Styles then wrestled Joe and defeated him.

Nakamura was also scheduled for a match at WWE’s house show in Japan tomorrow (Nakamura vs. Styles vs. Samoa Joe vs. Daniel Bryan). There’s no word yet if that match will also be canceled, but it seems probable. Nakamura has still reportedly not been cleared to wrestle and there’s no timetable yet for his return, though it doesn’t seem like it will be too long.
