Jay Lethal became the new Ring of Honor World Champion tonight at a Ring of Honor TV taping in Fairfax, Virginia.
He defeated champion Dalton Castle, Cody and Matt Taven in a four way title match. Lethal hit Castle with the Lethal Injection for the win.
This is Lethal’s second ROH World Championship win, with his first win coming on June 19, 2015.
Castle has held the title since December 15, 2017, when he defeated previous champion Cody. Castle has reportedly been dealing with back and wrist injury issues and this could mean that he may take a bit of time off to heal. Castle successfully defended the title at the ROH Best in the World show last night in a triple threat match against Cody and Marty Scurll.
The match should air at some point in the coming weeks but Ring of Honor uploaded the match to their Honor Club subscription service, so if you have a membership, you can watch it here.
