WWE removed all references to Saudi Arabia this weekend on the Crown Jewel event page on WWE.com, but the references are now back.
WWE.com’s Crown Jewel event page once again lists “KING SAUD UNIVERSITY STADIUM, RIYADH, SAUDI ARABIA” as the location for the show. There was no location listed for a couple of days.
WWE also went full throttle promoting Crown Jewel last night on Raw, though they made no mention of Saudi Arabia on air.
It seems pretty clear that WWE is moving ahead with the show right now. As mentioned yesterday, WWE is “determined” to go through with the show out of fear of losing their huge-money 10 year deal with the Saudis, according to Dave Meltzer. Meltzer also added that WWE is planning on the show going on as scheduled unless Donald Trump or the US state department asks them not to go through with it, and that doesn’t appear like it will happen.
