Lio Rush has not appeared on WWE TV since WrestleMania in April, nor has he wrestled on any house shows since March.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, “the response on the creative end is that nobody talks about him and he’s not someone being used.”
In early May, Rush spoke openly about the reports of backstage heat on him.
There was some talk in April that he was heading back to NXT, but that was before Rush gave the interview, which seemed to be on his own, without being “sanctioned” by WWE.
Rush also turned down a 5-year contract offer from WWE earlier this year worth somewhere in the $300k per year range, reportedly requesting double that.
His contract reportedly expires some time in 2020, probably in the summer since he signed with WWE in the summer of 2017.
Rush posted a video on June 12 titled “DAY 64 @WWE” (possibly the number of days since he was last on WWE TV) and talked about “getting out of this mess that I’m in” as long as he “believes in himself.”
