AEW Will Be on Tape Delay on the West Coast

Despite early reports that AEW would air live at 5 PM in the pacific time zone, that does not actually appear to be the case.

TV listings have AEW Dynamite airing at 8 PM pacific time, 9 PM mountain time on TNT on Wednesday, October 2.

NXT also airs on a three hour tape delay in the pacific and mountain time zones on Wednesdays on USA Network. SmackDown will also air on a tape delay when it moves to FOX.

People who have access to the east coast feeds of each channel would be able to watch the shows live at 5 PM PT / 8 PM ET, of course.

Though it won’t be live, airing in prime time in the west will be a ratings advantage for AEW, since it’ll air in prime time. If it aired at 5 PM PT, you’d have lots of potential viewers still not home from work.

Dave Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio that people from TNT and AEW had both initially repeatedly told him that the show would air live on the west coast since it will be treated as sports programming, but it looks like plans changed.

The first episode will also be replayed on TNT on Saturday at 10 AM ET and 10:30 PM ET. It’s not clear yet if the Saturday replays will be a regular thing going forward or if it’s just for the first episode.
