As noted before, WWE held the first night of their Draft during last night’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown. One of the new aspects with this year’s Draft was USA Network and FOX each having their own dedicated war room for draft picks.
PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that the networks had very little real involvement with the draft itself and WWE’s overall plans for it. It was reported that WWE made all the final decisions regarding roster moves but consulted with both USA Network and FOX officials to ensure they were happy with the list of talent for their respective RAW and SmackDown brands prior to the start of the draft.
It was also reported that WWE has been very secretive with their draft plans, with almost everyone in company being kept in the dark, including the majority of the locker room, who will be affected the most.
