MVP said on Instagram that his match against Rey Mysterio this past Monday on Raw was his final match for WWE.
“One for the history books. My FINAL WWE match took place on Monday Night RAW against my close friend and legend Rey Mysterio. A great way to close out that chapter,” he said. “Thank you WWE and the WWE Universe for all the love!!! What an amazing week I’ve had.”
He returned to a WWE ring for the first time since 2010 in the Royal Rumble match this past Sunday, entering at #12 and lasting just a few seconds before he was given an F5 and tossed out by Brock Lesnar.
Since he left WWE in 2010, he wrestled in NJPW, TNA, MLW and in various indie promotions.
He said that he’s not fully retired from wrestling yet, but the end of his career is coming “very soon.” “The end of my career looms larger every month. It’s been one HELL of a ride! I’m not finished just yet. But soon. Very soon.”
