WWE confirmed that Edge underwent surgery for a torn triceps that he suffered in his match against Randy Orton at Backlash.
WWE Digital has confirmed that Edge suffered a torn triceps as a result of injuries sustained during The Greatest Wrestling Match Ever. Edge has undergone successful surgery and is currently rehabbing at home.
The news of Edge’s injury was first reported yesterday.
The match was taped on June 7. According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, the injury happened while Edge and Orton were re-taping one of the spots in the match, possibly when Edge jumped off of the ropes into an RKO. At the end of the match, Edge had a visible bruise on his right triceps, near his elbow.
There’s no word on how long Edge will be out yet, but a triceps injury typically needs about eight months of recovery time.
