As noted before, this past Monday’s episode of WWE RAW set a new all-time series low in overall viewership and generated a lower key demographic rating than the previous week’s episode of AEW Dynamite.
PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that there were several changes made to the show’s script throughout the day but it mostly involved rearranging segments to different parts of the show. Johnson reported that with the exception of show dialogue, most of the show was aired as had been originally written. The dialogue changes reportedly were done in order to fit Vince McMahon’s vision, which was described by one of Johnson’s sources as “the writers giving him what he wants.”
One notable change made to show’s original plans involved Keith Lee’s match, which was originally planned to be a singles match between Lee and The Miz rather than a handicap match. Johnson reported that Lee was not planned to defeat The Miz in that match either.
Johnson also reported that several segments ran longer than originally scheduled, and WWE officials were not happy about it backstage.
In regards to the fallout from this week’s record low RAW ratings, WrestleVotes reported that one source spoken to stated that this week’s poor RAW ratings are not “sitting well” with WWE officials. It was also reported that this same source currently expects that some reactionary decisions will be made as a result for the RAW brand.
