The “strong belief” is that Aleister Black will end up signing with AEW, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
“While not a done deal, and it can’t be until 8/31, the strong belief is that Tom Budgen, the former Aleister Black, is headed [to AEW],” Dave Meltzer said.
Black’s 90 day non-compete clause with WWE expires around August 31. Until then, he’s not able to officially sign with AEW.
There has also been a push from some people in WWE to re-sign Black, thinking his release was a mistake, according to the Observer, so it’s also possible that Black ends up back in WWE.
