One Updated Match Added to NXT Great American Bash 2023
Tuesday’s WWE NXT show featured one updated match for the card of WWE’s NXT Great American Bash 2023 event on July 30th in Cedar Park, Texas.
This newly updated match is a NXT Championship match of Ilja Dragunov vs. Carmelo Hayes (c).
During the show, Ilja Dragunov defeated Bron Breakker to become the new #1 contender for Hayes’ title and secure a guaranteed title shot at NXT’s Great American Bash 2023 event later this month.
The finish to this match involved Dragunov leaping off the top rope only to get caught mid-are by Breakker for a near fall. After several forearm strikes, Breakker setup Dragunov for his Military Press Slam finisher only for Dragunov to counter it with a Tornado DDT. Dragunov then hit Breakker with a powerbomb for a near fall followed by a flying forearm strike for another near fall right after. Breakker tried to hit another spear on Dragunov only for Dragunov to counter it with a leaping knee strike setting up his Torpedo Moscow right after for the pinfall victory to become the new #1 contender for the NXT Championship.

Dominik Mysterio vs. Wes Lee for NXT North American Championship Set for Next Week’s Show
Tuesday’s NXT show also featured one new match added to the card of next week’s NXT show.
This is a NXT North American Championship match of Dominik Mysterio vs. Wes Lee (c).
This match was setup following a backstage interview segment involving Lee that was interrupted by Mysterio and Rhea Ripley. Mysterio stated that the reason why he interrupted Lee’s talk was due to him wanting to accept the open challenge offer for Lee’s title. Lee responded in a puzzled manner stating that has not been a thing for his title in the past few weeks since he stopped doing it but would be willing to get the match booked. Before he could leave, Mysterio stated that instead of having the match be booked for tonight’s show, he wanted it for next week’s show instead.
