As noted before, Tuesday’s NXT show featured Ridge Holland announcing that he was “indefinitely” stepping away from his in-ring career due to family and mental health-related reasons.
Following the show, WWE moved Holland’s profile over to their Alumni section on their official website.
Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that Holland’s decision to step away from his in-ring career is not legitimate and instead is just for storyline purposes. It was reported that Holland is currently planned to eventually return back to the ring and that this story is one that Holland has been motivated to do.
It was reported that there has been no pushback from NXT talent backstage due to the nature of the storyline for Holland.
