WWE made some changes to the creative team today, but complete details have yet to be disclosed. What is known is that writer John Carle was released.
WWE Hall of Famer Afa was let go this past week in a cost cutting measure. He had been on the company payroll for years. As noted earlier, WWE released his son, Manu, last week.
As reported yesterday, there was some paranoia within the Anoa’i family in recent months regarding Afa’s involvement with The Wrestler as he helped train Mickey Rourke for the movie and Vince McMahon was initially displeased with the film (to put it mildly). Considering John Laurinaitis will be scouting talent at Afa’s Wild Samoan Training Camp in June, there doesn’t appear to be any hard feelings as their respective releases were simply business related and not as a result of the Hall of Famer’s involvement with the movie.
