Drew McIntyre reportedly was involved in a backstage incident following his elimination from the Men’s Royal Rumble match at Saturday’s WWE Royal Rumble 2025 event, according to PWInsider.
Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that McIntyre was seen “screaming and cursing” backstage after he had been eliminated and “stormed out” of the building and left before the match and show was over. Johnson reported that while the exact cause of his outburst is currently not known, McIntyre complained that “someone had to get their moves” and “at the expense” of some of the stories that were being told in the match.
Dave Meltzer reported in a recent episode of the Wrestling Observer Radio that his sources confirmed Johnson’s report and provided additional details.
Meltzer reported that McIntyre was not the only performer in the match who had a problem and was very upset with a specific other person’s performance during it. Meltzer also reported that those spoken to stated that this was not some sort of angle by McIntyre and instead him being legitimately pissed off.
In regards to the identity of this person in question, Meltzer reported that he was told of the name of this person but would not disclose it at the time since it will likely get leaked out soon anyways by others who were also very upset at him.
This mystery person reportedly was stated to be “trying to get himself over and not the match over, and he was doing things.”
