This past Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show in St. Paul, Minnesota featured The Learning Tree’s Big Bill & “Bad Apple” Brian Keith issuing an official challenge to The Hurt Syndicate for an AEW World Tag Team Championship match at AEW’s Dynasty 2025 event next month.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources stated that AEW officials original plans for the challengers for the AEW World Tag Team titles at next month’s Dynasty 2025 event were recently changed due to an injury-related issue.
Meltzer reported that AEW’s original plans were for the Murder Machines’ Lance Archer & Brian Cage to challenge for the titles instead. These plans reportedly were changed due to Cage recently suffering an injury at an indie event on March 20th. Meltzer reported that this led to AEW officials pivoting to having the Learning Tree be the challengers instead for the Hurt Syndicate.
No other details were given regarding the nature nor severity of Cage’s injury.
