WWE reportedly recently had a new round of staff layoffs at their headquarters office earlier this week, according to PWInsider.
Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that a new wave of layoffs took place on Thursday affecting multiple departments within WWE.
Johnson reported that the talk within the company was that around 10 to 12 people were believed to have been laid off but this number could potentially grow.
Johnson reported that the most notable name confirmed to have been laid off was Christine Lubrano, who had served as WWE’s Senior Vice President of Creative Writing Operations.
Lubrano reportedly was a key person within WWE’s creative division and “was tasked with overseeing all strategic operations for the company’s creative division. The Raw, SmackDown, and NXT creative teams reported to both Lubrano and Bruce Prichard, who in turn reported to WWE Chief Content Officer Paul Levesque [Triple H].”
Those spoken to reportedly stated that Lubrano’s departure was seen as part of another phase of corporate restructuring within the company.
Prior to her departure, Lubrano had been wth WWE since January of 2021. Lubrano previously worked at IFC and as their SVP of Original Programming and Development.
Besides WWE’s Creative department, Johnson reported that this new round of layoffs had also hit the company’s photography department along with others.
It is currently not known if a new round of talent releases will also be taking place as part of this latest round of staff layoffs and cuts.
