As noted before, Darby Allin successfully reached the summit of Mount Everest this past May. Allin has been on a break from AEW since this past December due to his training and planned climb of the mountain that began this past mid-April.
Fighful Select reported that their sources stated that many within AEW currently expect Allin to return to AEW television “imminently.” Those spoken to reportedly stated that they would be “shocked” if Allin was not involved in the upcoming All In: Texas event on July 12th in some form.
It was reported that Allin was stated to have emerged from his Everest trip relatively unscathed and can compete if needed for AEW. It was also reported that AEW’s current creative plans for Allin’s return is currently not known.
It was also reported that AEW officials had originally hoped to have Allin back for this year’s Owen Hart Cup tournament but that timeline was quickly proven to be unrealistic for the company.
