Tiffany Stratton Confirms She Apologized to Charlotte Flair Over Divorce Line & Thinks She Was Justified in How She Handled Controversial Promo

As noted before, Charlotte Flair and current WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton were involved in an incident on the April 4th episode of WWE SmackDown revolving around their promo segment going very off script over Stratton bringing up Flair’s personal life issues including her history of failed marriages. This topic was addressed in an episode of WWE’s WWE Unreal docuseries that featured WWE CCO Paul “Triple H” Levesque’s negative reaction and wanting Stratton to apologize to Flair.

A recent episode of the Impaulsive podcast featured Stratton as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Stratton confirming that she had apologized to Flair over her controversial divorce line during their promo segment.

“Charlotte Flair is Charlotte Flair. She’s a legend. I was the champion at the time. Things were heated. She’s very competitive. I’m also very competitive. I’m trying to prove to Charlotte Flair that I can go and stand up to her and am worthy of this title. Shit got heated. We both went off script. It happens. I did have to apologize. That was that.”

Stratton also gave her thoughts about if it was hard for her to apologize.

“No. I’m someone that can fully embrace being in the wrong. I had no problem apologizing.”

Stratton also gave her thoughts about her feeling justified over how she handled the controversial promo segment.

“Yes and no. I think what I did was justified, but maybe I shouldn’t have gone that far. I do feel like I was justified in what I did.”

WWE News & Notes

Tuesday’s WWE NXT show also featured TNA talent Moose making a surprise appearance on the show. Moose came out to the ring during the promo segment between NXT Champion Oba Femi, Trick Williams, and Je’Von Evans to confront Williams ahead of his TNA World title match at TNA Emergence 2025.

WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair recently revealed on Twitter that himself, former WWE/TKO Executive Chairman Vince McMahon, WWE CCO Paul “Triple H” Levesque, Kid Rock, and Dennis Rodman were among those who had attended Hulk Hogan’s private funeral service on Tuesday at the Indian Rocks Baptist Church in Largo, Florida.

As noted before, WWE held a recent set of new talent tryouts last week in New Jersey as part of their SummerSlam 2025 festivities. Among those who had participated was Zoe Hines. It was recently revealed that Hines is the niece of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who is the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. WWE CCO Paul “Triple H” Levesque and Stephanie McMahon had visited Kennedy Jr. in Washington D.C. this past June for a meeting about them strategizing for the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness & Nutrition, which was signed as an executive order this past July featuring Levesque in attendance for it.

Fightful Select reported that the general reaction from those within WWE spoken to about the recently released WWE Unreal docuseries has been mostly undecided in regards to their actual feelings about it. It was reported that some talent spoken to who were featured in the docuseries were not told they were being filmed for it beforehand. Those same talents spoken to reportedly stated that being filmed in the docuseries was worked in their contracts and that there are always signs up backstage noting that they are subject to being filmed. It was reported that there is a worry among talent due to emotions running high in the Gorilla Position and this being one less place where they are able to be vulnerable due to the presence of the film crew. Several talents spoken to reportedly stated that they were not paid extra for being on the show that they are aware of.

In a recent interview with Complex Sports, WWE Hall of Famer Bret “The Hitman” Hart gave his thoughts about his belief that CM Punk is currently the best wrestler in the world today. Hart stated “There’s a lot of really good wrestlers. I mean, I’m a forever Rey Mysterio fan. I love watching Rey even now today, especially as he gets older. But I’m also a big fan of Roman Reigns, and I think if I had answered the question, I’d say CM Punk.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)

Tekken series creator Katsuhiro Harada recently reflected on Twitter about WWE referencing the character Yoshimitsu during the Penta vs. Grayson Waller match and post-match brawl with New Day at this past Monday’s WWE RAW show. Harada statedI wasn’t aware of this. I’m truly surprised!!! And I heard that he even performed some of Yoshimitsu’s moves in the ring. I really wish I could’ve seen it live!!

As noted before, this past Sunday’s WWE SummerSlam 2025 Night 1 event featured Brock Lesnar making his surprise return and attacked John Cena. In a recent interview with Adam’s Apple, Cena gave his thoughts about Lesnar’s recent return to WWE. Cena stated “I’ve been saying the same thing for 25 years. They deal ’em, I play ’em. I’m just really excited. We’ve got like 12 of these things left. I think SummerSlam was an indication from the audience where everybody kind of knows where we’re closing our book, and just because I close my book in December, that doesn’t mean the WWE closes its book. They got to continue their programming going forward. So they’re just trying to make the most exciting shows for the fans. A dozen of them (appearances) I got left. They deal ‘em, I play ‘em.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)

Karrion Kross recently reflected on Twitter about the release of his new “Life Is Fighting” memoir and his thanks to all of his fans for the support they have shown towards him. Kross statedI want to personally thank everyone for reading- and also every independent podcast/news/fans who shared or discussed my book on the way to this week as word of mouth made it possible for people to know about my life story. While the book only briefly appeared during the SummerSlam pre-show, the real support came from you, the ones who kept it alive through kindness and conversation for months. Thank you 🙏🏼

In a recent interview with the Cheap Heat with Peter Rosenberg podcast, Jacob Fatu gave his thoughts about his praise of Solo Sikoa for helping him with his promo work in WWE. Fatu stated “I didn’t expect anything. I just grew up to play my position, play my role, and do my thing. I never try to overstep on anybody or nothing. Talking was my weakest point. On the indies, we get away with cussing. I wasn’t comfortable in talking. Not at all. Then, they started letting me speak. I remember Tama telling me, ‘Just talk like yourself. Be yourself. Some of the stuff you’re saying, ain’t nobody saying your slang.’ Shout-out to Triple H. It started off small with a couple of lines here. Solo has actually been a big help on my promos. Everything you see me and Solo doing, he’s been more than helpful.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)

In a recent interview with The Ringer’s The Masked Man Show podcast, Ron “R-Truth” Killings gave his thoughts about the support he received from the locker room following his brief release from WWE this past June. Killings stated “Rhea (Ripley) wearing my shirt. Me and Road Dogg are brothers from a different mother. I got calls. Kevin Owens was at his daughter’s dance recital. I’m talking about thousands of text messages. The unity. The love. There was so much in that. It put an S on my chest. I always call myself the Suntan Superman, but it made me feel…the phrase The People’s Champ, that was it. People see me and I’ve helped them get through a certain time in their life. Somebody else may see it as, ‘He’s just goofy.’ Moments and opportunities I have, I made the best out of them. I do that in the ring and real life. A lot of that, people relate to it in their lives. That was powerful. Everything was balled up into that. I don’t know if it was watching me, growing with me, them feeling something. That was an emotional rollercoaster that the world experienced. There is more to it. I still go back and try to pick things out. ‘What does that mean?’ You gotta stop and smell the roses. I could’ve forgotten who I was. As a person, we get knocked down in life a lot. That kind of love, support, and motivation that put an S on my chest. ‘You are our champ. We love you and what you represent and how you make us feel.’ My title and championship is those hundreds and millions of people. I don’t need no material. I have organic living fresh proof that the love is the championship.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
