As noted before, Chris Jericho’s contract with AEW is currently set to expire by the end of 2025. Jericho is currently believed to be returning to WWE once his contract expires following him recently liking a post on Instagram that mentioned he would be open to the idea.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources stated that there has been a lot of talk regarding Jericho this past week. Meltzer reported that neither Jericho nor AEW CEO Tony Khan have said anything about Jericho’s future in AEW when asked but neither denied anything either.
Meltzer reported that there are people within AEW who currently believe that Jericho is not coming back to the company and will return to WWE as a surprise at next year’s Royal Rumble event.
Meltzer also reported that those spoken to within WWE also currently expect Jericho to return to their company.
Meltzer also reported that all things being equal, a return to WWE would be the place for Jericho for the future of his wrestling career but all things may not be equal when it comes to money and other factors for a decision.
