Ash By Elegance Comments on How She Almost Retired From Wrestling Before TNA Debut

Metro UK held a recent interview with current TNA Knockouts World Champion Ash By Elegance. One of the topics discussed included Ash’s thoughts about her release from WWE in 2023 and how the experience of it made her question on if she should call it quits and retire from wrestling.

“There was that feeling again where I’m like, maybe I’m just not made for this. Maybe I should hang my boots up, call it quits, and just figure out a different path.”

Ash also gave her thoughts about her debut in TNA and how she focused on reinventing herself and grinding her way up to win the TNA Knockouts World title.

“Here I am! My hard worked showed two years later.

I wasn’t watching as a young kid, I started here [in NXT]. I grinded my way from the bottom all the way to the top, then to be able to come back and capture this title.”

Ash also gave her thoughts about Bayley had sent her a congratulatory message after her TNA Knockouts World title win at WWE’s NXT Heatwave 2025 event.

“Bayley sent me such a cool message. She’s like, ‘I just want to let you know I’m so proud of you and you’re so effing cool’ I’ve always wanted to hold a TNA Title.’

I feel like me holding the TNA title brings so much drive and hunger to girls that may have felt like they can never do it. You just never know who’s going to show up, who’s going to want to come after this title. It’s awesome.”

Konnan Comments on Him Being Very Happy So Far with WWE’s Handling of AAA

Denise Salcedo held a recent interview with AAA creative member and WWE Hall of Famer Konnan. One of the topics discussed included Konnan’s initial reaction to WWE’s acquisition deal of Lucha Libre AAA.

“It was a little bit sad because AAA, it was kind of a mom and pop’s operation, but they couldn’t grow anymore. They didn’t have the resources, they didn’t have the money, and even though our business was great, our business was actually hot, we weren’t going to grow. And I’m so glad that WWE looked into this.”

Konnan also gave his thoughts about the change backstage since WWE’s purchase of AAA.

“It’s just been excellent because they’re smart at what they do. They understand what works and what doesn’t work. They’ll ask us for opinions on stuff. No pressure, really laid back, really cool to work with. So far – If you know my history, I’ve quit a lot of places and been fired from a lot, and I hope this doesn’t happen here – I’m very happy.”

Konnan also gave his thoughts about WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker’s involvement backstage with AAA.

“Undertaker’s brilliant. I don’t think they would have put him in that position (otherwise). When you sit down and talk to him, he knows his stuff. I’ve been around enough bookers to know who knows their s–t and who doesn’t.

What Undertaker brings to the game is he knows what gets heat, what works, what can get somebody over, and what are good finishes. That’s his genius.”
