AEW National Title and TBS Title Matches Announced for December 31st AEW Dynamite New Year’s Smash 2025 Show
Saturday’s AEW Worlds End 2025 event also featured two new matched announced for the card of next week’s AEW Dynamite New Year’s Smash 2025 show on December 31st at the Liberty First Credit Union Arena in Ralston, Nebraska.
Among the notable new matches announced was an AEW TBS Championship match of Willow Nightingale vs. Mercedes Mone (c).
This new match was setup following the Babes of Wrath (Nightingale & Harley Cameron) defeating Mone & Athena to retain the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship after Nightingale had pinned Mone. In a follow-up segment, Lexy Nair was seen backstage outside of Mone’s dressing room trying to get an interview with her. This led to Mone showing up and ignoring Nair and went into her room screaming in anger and broke a mirror. After calming down, Mone came out of her room for the interview only to get angry again after Nair brought up that the end of 2025 hasn’t been good to her. Mone responded talking about all of her accomplishments and issued a challenge to Nightingale for New Year’s Smash. Mone then stated that she’s going to beat Willow Nightingale’s “f*cking ass.” It was announced afterwards that this match was made official for Mone’s TBS title for the show.
