AEW held a media scrum following Saturday’s Worlds End 2025 event at the NOW Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois.
Some of the notable highlights included:
- During her portion of the media scrum, AEW Women’s World Champion Kris Statlander gave her thoughts in character about her spitting in Jamie Hayter’s face during their match stating that her sob story is over and she isn’t an underdog. Statlander stated that her moment is now and she is the champion.
- On the topic of new fans tuning into AEW, Statlander stated that she would like new fans to know that wrestling wasn’t a passion her whole life but now it has become her passion. Statlander also stated that it has taken over her life in a good way and gave words of encouragement saying its never too late to follow your dreams and be the best version of yourself.
- During their portion of the media scrum, The Conglomeration’s Orange Cassidy and TNT Champion Mark Briscoe talked about their victory in the 8-Person Mixed Nuts Mayhem match against The Death Riders and being interested in teaming up with “Timeless” Toni Storm again in the future.
- AEW Women’s World Tag Team Champions Babes of Wrath (Willow Nightingale & Harley Cameron) joined in during The Conglomeration’s portion of the media scrum. Cameron performed a song she called “The Babes of Wrath.” After performing her song, Cameron stated that she knows her background is in entertainment but her heart is in wrestling. Cameron also stated that she is passionate and motivated and wrestling is where she wants to grow. Cameron also thanked AEW CEO Tony Khan for giving her the opportunity for her wrestling career.
- On the topic of her upcoming TBS Championship match against Mercedes Mone, Nightingale stated that the last time she came up short but now they will both show up well studied and will have fire in their bellies at Wednesday’s show.
- During his portion of the media scrum, AEW CEO Tony Khan gave his thoughts about his belief that this past week’s AEW Christmas Collision show was maybe the best Collision show ever so far.
- Scrum moderator Renee Paquette asked Khan if he knows any good dentists in reference to Jon Moxley legitimately splitting his tooth in half during his Continental Classic Semifinal match against Kyle Fletcher. Khan did not respond back stating Britt Baker’s name nor answered the question.
- On the topic of AEW’s achievements in this year’s Sports Illustrated Awards, Khan stated “Last year we won some awards. This year we won even more awards…For AEW to continue delivering at this level throughout the year, at a high in-ring level, missing somebody who many of the top journalists consider to be the greatest in-ring wrestler in the world, that’s saying something.” Khan also spoke about in some detail about each of the ten awards AEW won from Sports Illustrated this year.
- On the topic of the Continental Classic tournament, Khan gave his thoughts about his belief that the Semifinal Round match between Jon Moxley and Kyle Fletcher may have been the best Continental Classic match.
- On the topic of Moxley’s performances and fans rallying behind him during the show considering him spending most of the past two years as a villain, Khan stated “Was I surprised to see a positive reaction? No, because when you eliminate some of the outside interference…I believe that if you put Jon Moxley out there against great wrestlers and eliminate some of the shortcuts that made the Death Riders such unpopular villains…I kind of expected that might be the case because he’s always been a popular star.“
- On the topic of Adam Cole’s video appearance during the Zero Hour pre-show and his current health status, Khan stated “Well, there’s certainly no pressure. I was just really happy to hear from Adam Cole and I thought the fans would be so happy to see him and obviously, Adam Cole’s been a great champion in AEW and it was important for Adam Cole to step away and prioritize his health and wellbeing. We love him, and he’s a great star here and absolutely, like he said, when he spoke earlier, we want Adam Cole to be involved in AEW, and I don’t have any health updates other than to say you can see he’s doing well and he’s excited about AEW… So with Adam Cole, no particular update other than to say you can see he’s doing well, and since we last heard from him when he had to vacate the TNT Championship at AEW All In Texas. It was a sad moment, it was a hard moment for a lot of the fans and for a lot of us so we were so happy to hear from him… He’s very good (at being an analyst). He’s (an) excellent host.“
- On the topic of if he already has plans set for the future and primarily in 2027 when AEW would need to be peaking in popularity before their next media rights deal, Khan stated “We’re signed for years to come through 2027 and planning ahead for years to come. So I’m very focused on the years ahead, but I’m also very grateful. It’s been a great year. We’re very proud of our great media partner, Warner Brothers Discovery. We’ve been able to work with them for years, and I’m very proud that we’ve been putting out great shows.“
- On the topic of AEW’s return to Wembley Stadium in 2026 and television audience growth on ITV4 in the United Kingdom in 2025, Khan stated “We’ve got a great relationship with ITV with Dynamite being up over 50 percent year over year in the ratings on ITV4, now Collision being up over 60 percent in the ratings year over year, and that bodes really well going back to Wembley Stadium for next year.“
- On the topic of the early pay-per-view buys numbers for Worlds End 2025, Khan stated that the event is trending “incredibly well.”
- On the topic of Hyan and Maya World being signed to AEW contracts and their addition to AEW’s roster, Khan stated “They’ve been doing a fantastic job. Hyan and Maya World came in and have delivered time after time, and put on great matches. Everybody in the locker room really respects them. They bring something great to the roster. I thought Hyan and Maya World would make a great addition to the roster. Every experience I’ve had with them individually and as a team has been positive.“
