Mick Foley Denies “False Report” of Him Being Furious at WWE Over Continued Use of Footage of His Matches on WWE Programming
As noted before, WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley announced earlier this month that he will not be renewing his Legends contract with WWE and has parted ways with the company over their continued association with President Donald J. Trump. Foley had stated that his final straw was recent tasteless comments made by Trump on social media following the murder of legendary director Rob Reiner and his wife Michelle and WWE being quiet over the matter.
A recent online report from an online wrestling “news” site claimed that Foley was furious at WWE over the company’s continued usage of footage of his matches on their programming.
Foley responded on Tuesday on Instagram denying the report being true and outed the two news sites for posting the fake news. Foley also asked for the report to be retracted and for the site to admit that it was false.
“STOPPING A LIE.
An Instagram page called @itswrestlinglover and a Facebook page called “Wrestling Corner” have posted a completely false story about me being furious that @wwe is continuing to use my wrestling footage. That’s simply a lie. It’s WWE’s footage and I’m very proud of it. End of story.”
Liv Morgan Alleged Stalker Arrest Update – Shawn Chan’s Attorneys Files Motion Claiming He Was “Insane” When He Went To Morgan’s House
As noted before, a man named Shawn Chan was arrested this past June outside of WWE’s Performance Center in Orlando, Florida over charges of him being an alleged stalker of Liv Morgan. Chan was issued federal charges related to a stalking incident at Morgan’s home, which Morgan was away from at the time. Chan had filed a motion this past August requesting to be released from jail that was later rejected by the court twice.
PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that Chan’s attorneys filed a motion under Federal Rule of Criminal Procedure 12.2(b) on December 23rd before The United States District Court, Middle District of Florida, Tampa Division. This is a notice of insanity defense that includes expert testimony.
“After reviewing the discovery and meeting with Mr. Chan, defense counsel came to believe that additional investigation of his mental status was necessary to defend him on the merits. Accordingly, on September 5, 2025, counsel retained Dr. Michelle Ayala to examine Mr. Chan for diminished capacity and insanity. Dr. Ayala scheduled an examination of Mr. Chan for October 17, 2025, but had to cancel for personal reasons. She conducted the examination on October 24, 2025.
On December 22, 2025, Dr. Ayala provided counsel with the attached, 10- page, single-spaced report. Dr. Ayala finds that Mr. Chan suffers from an acute delusional disorder that causes him to believe he is in a romantic relationship with the alleged victim. Dr. Ayala concludes that Mr. Chan was insane at the time of the offense.”
In the motion, Chan’s attorneys argues that the court should allow the filing despite the deadline for filing pre-trial motions by May 12th had passed. For the reason for the delay and request for the court to approve the motion, Chan’s attorneys argued “because the delay in obtaining a report from Dr. Ayala and the error in the Court’s scheduling order constitute good cause.” The filing also stated “Finally, good cause exists to file the required notice late. Counsel acted diligently to investigate Mr. Chan’s mental status. The delay was caused by Dr. Ayala’s schedule and the need to complete the report. Given the thoroughness of Dr. Ayala’s examination and report, a delay of this sort is to be expected. In any event, the Defense could not have complied with the Court’s deadline because it passed before Mr. Chan was indicted.”
Johnson reported that the court has asked the prosecution to officially respond to this new motion by January 6, 2026.
