MJF Brings Back “Triple B” AEW World Title & Kenny Omega Issues Challenge
Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite New Year’s Smash 2025 show at the Liberty First Credit Union Arena in Ralston, Nebraska featured MJF bringing back his “Triple B” title design for the AEW World Championship.
During the show, MJF came out to the ring with the AEW World title. After some words about Samoa Joe, Swerve Strickland, and Hangman Adam Page and him becoming the new AEW World Champion. MJF then tossed the AEW World title out of the ring and unveiled his “Triple B” AEW World title from a podium in the ring. The same AEW World title design he brought out the last time he was AEW World Champion.

MJF then continued his speech gloating about himself and insulting the locker room, which led to Kenny Omega showing up and issued a challenge to MJF for a future title match.
Just as @The_MJF was getting started, he was interrupted by @KennyOmegamanX asking "What If?"

Willow Nightingale Wins TBS Title
Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite New Year’s Smash 2025 show also featured Willow Nightingale defeating Mercedes Mone to become the new TBS Champion.

This was Nightingale’s second TBS championship victory in her AEW career.

Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite New Year’s Smash 2025 show also featured two new matches announced for the card of next week’s show on January 7, 2026 at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Among the notable new matches announced included a Lights Out match of Hangman Adam Page & Swerve Strickland vs. The Opps (HOOK & Powerhouse Hobbs). This new match was setup following a heated promo segment exchange between Samoa Joe & The Opps and Page & Strickland. It was announced afterwards that this match was made official for next week’s show.

It was also announced that Jim Ross will be making a return appearance on AEW commentary for the show.
