Saxon Huxley Wins PROGRESS Atlas Title

Thursday’s The New Year 2026 event for Pro Wrestling NOAH at the Nippon Budokan in Tokyo, Japan featured Saxon Huxley defeating Will Kroos to become the new PROGRESS Atlas Champion.

This was Huxley’s first ever PROGRESS Atlas Championship victory in his PROGRESS Wrestling career.

Alpha Wolf Wins GHC National Title & Joins Team 200X

Thursday’s NOAH The New Year 2026 event also featured Alpha Wolf defeating his brother Dragon Bane to become the new GHC National Championship.

Near the end of the match, Team 200X’s Yoshitatsu came out to the ring leading to Bane becoming distracted and getting laid out by Wolf. Yoshitatsu then gave Team 2000X’s “X” hand signal to Wolf leading to Wolf responding back doing the same revealing him as the newest member of the group. Wolf then hit a Wolf Driver to Bane for the pinfall victory to win the title.

Following the match, the rest of Team 2000X came out to the ring to celebrate with Wolf and handed him a new black mask with a white “X” design.

This was Wolf’s first ever GHC National Championship victory in his NOAH career.

Naito Revealed as BUSHI’s Mystery Partner for GHC Tag Titles Match

Thursday’s NOAH The New Year 2026 event also featured Naito being revealed as the mystery tag team partner for BUSHI’s match against Naomichi Marufuji & Kenoh for the GHC Tag Team Championship.

Prior to the start of the match, a mystery person in a mask came out to the ring and took it off revealing himself to be RYUSEI, who is a trainee of Naito. This led to Marufuji and Kenoh giving a confused look over who this person was leading to another mystery masked person coming out. This second mystery person took off their mask revealing himself to be Naito and both Marufuji and Kenoh giving shocked reactions over the revelation.

In an interesting note, the official match graphic for the mystery X person was just a render of a profile of Naito wearing his hat but darkened out to avoid actually showing him and spoiling the surprise beforehand.

Los Tranquilos de Japon Wins GHC Tag Titles

Thursday’s NOAH The New Year 2026 event also featured Los Tranquilos de Japon (BUSHI & Tetsuya Naito) defeating Naomichi Marufuji & Kenoh to become the new GHC Tag Team Champions.

Following the match, BUSHI and Naito extended their fists out in the air for their usual LIJ style fist bump and RYUSEI joining in revealing himself as the newest member of Los Tranquilos de Japon.

AMAKUSA Wins GHC Jr. Heavyweight Title

Thursday’s NOAH The New Year 2026 event also featured AMAKUSA defeating Hiromu Takahashi to become the new GHC Junior Heavyweight Champion.

Following the match, Daiki Odashima came out to the ring and issued a challenge to AMAKUSA, which AMAKUSA accepted for a future show.
