Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that Matt Taven, Mercedes Martinez, and Alex Abrahantes all have departed from AEW following the expiration of their contracts.
PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources confirmed that all three contracts had expired and are no longer with the company.
Prior to their departures, Taven had been with AEW since 2022 and primarily worked for Ring of Honor. Taven’s tag team partner Mike Bennett is still under contract with AEW and ROH.
Martinez had been with AEW since December of 2021 and last wrestled for AEW and ROH in April of 2024. Martinez had recently announced that 2026 would be the last year of her being a full-time active wrestler and had revealed that she was not under any contract for it.
Abranhantes had been with AEW since 2019 and primarily worked as a manager for several lucha wrestlers including the Lucha Bros (Penta & Rey Fenix) and Komander. Abrahantes also worked as a commentator for AEW’s Spanish commentary team.
