As noted before, Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show in Tulsa, Oklahoma featured former TNA talent Jake Something making his surprise official debut for AEW and being revealed as the newest member of the Don Callis Family. Something was also announced to be going under the new ring name of Jake Doyle in AEW.
Fightful Select reported that Doyle’s contract with TNA Wrestling had expired on January 1st and that paved the way for him to sign with AEW afterwards.
It was reported that Doyle’s contract with TNA was originally believed to extend well into 2026 but the expiration date came sooner than expected. TNA reportedly had continued advertising him for their upcoming AMC debut despite him not coming to terms for a new deal prior to his departure.
It was also reported that Doyle is currently expected to be featured regularly alongside Mark Davis, especially due to Davis’ former tag partner Kyle Fletcher has been position primarily as a singles competitor in AEW.
