As noted before, WWE’s current creative structure features WWE executives Bruce Prichard and Ed Koskey as the main people who handle the everyday operations and WWE lead writer Ryan Ward being the running point person for both RAW and SmackDown. WWE Hall of Famer Brian “Road Dogg” James and John Swikata are the current lead writers for SmackDown and Alexandra Williams and Jonathan Baeckstrom are the current lead writers for RAW. WWE CCO Paul “Triple H” Levesque is currently the main person in charge of WWE’s overall creative.
Dave Meltzer had reported in last week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that WWE had made some small changes involving Ward getting a small promotion and both Road Dogg and Swiktata getting a minor “demotion” in terms of control.
Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources provided additional details regarding the level of creative control and roles Paul Heyman, William Regal, and Nick Khan have within WWE.
Meltzer reported that Regal’s current role within WWE’s creative process does not involve him actually working on creative ideas and plans. Instead, Regal’s role is to critique the style and believably of the matches during WWE shows.
WWE producer Michael Hayes reportedly is a “day of show” producer and is part of WWE’s creative for their biggest shows.
Heyman reportedly is involved with the long-term discussions and being hands on with the creative of his people, which includes The Vision, Brock Lesnar, and Roman Reigns.
In regards to Khan, Meltzer reported that while he has denied it publicly, Khan does have a voice when it comes to creative plans but the only person he deals with his Levesque and does not directly deal with WWE’s creative team.
