WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select reported that WWE held an internal multi-department meeting this past week to address the issue with ticket sales for this April’s WrestleMania 42 event in Las Vegas, Nevada have fallen below current expectations.
This meeting reportedly took place on Wednesday, February 11th and the purpose of the meeting was to create new strategies and promotional work in an effort to increase ticket sales and momentum for the event.
It was reported that WWE officials currently intends to keep the current ticket pricing for WrestleMania 42 as is for the time being.
It was also reported that WWE officials have began asking advice to everyday office workers about the direction of the company despite some of them not even being actual wrestling fans. WWE officials reportedly likely had believed that they could get away with charging expensive tickets for their WrestleMania event again in one of the most expensive cities in the world only to recently acknowledge that the situation was bad instead for it.
In regards to the current ticket sales for WrestleMania 42, WrestleTix reported that WWE has sold and distributed over 36,000 tickets for each night as of this past week. Both nights are currently down by almost 10,000 each compared to WrestleMania 41’s ticket sales at this same point last year.
One factor that could end up negatively impacting ticket sales for this year’s event is WWE’s newest policy not allowing local establishments to broadcast the event if they are within a 50 mile radius even if they had paid for a licensing fee.
